🎓 The Anthony Beeler Virtual Billiard Academy College Scholarship
The Anthony Beeler Virtual Billiard Academy Scholarship was created to support students who demonstrate discipline, focus, and personal growth. The Professional Billiard Instructors Association believes that cue sports develops strategic thinking, patience, and resilience—skills that translate into academic and professional excellence.
This annual scholarship is open to students pursuing any field of study at an accredited college or university.

If you enjoy playing the game, the Anthony Beeler Virtual Billiard Academy College Scholarship may be for you. You don’t have to be a professional or tournament player — this scholarship was created for students who love pool and have learned valuable life lessons through the game.
Whether billiards has taught you patience, focus, confidence, or perseverance, this award recognizes students who carry those lessons into their education and everyday life. If the game has influenced your journey in any meaningful way, this is your opportunity to share your story and receive support toward your college goals.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

Be currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited college or university in the United States.

Be enrolled at least full-time during the upcoming academic year
-
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Submit a 1,000-word (or less) essay on:
“How the Game of Billiards Has Influenced My Life.”

Provide basic contact information and proof of enrollment
All majors and academic disciplines are welcome.
Scholarship Essay Prompt
In 1,000 words or less, describe how billiards has influenced your life.
Students may discuss:

Skills the game has taught them

Life lessons learned
-
Personal or academic growth
-
Meaningful experiences surrounding the sport

How the discipline of cue sports shapes their goals or character
Essays should be personal, reflective, and sincere.

Selection Criteria
Recipients are evaluated based on:

Must attend at a participating school.
Finalists may be contacted if additional details are needed.
Award Details

One winner receives $500.

Funds are sent directly to the student’s college financial aid office

The award is for tuition or educational expenses

Students may reapply annually.
