An Awesome Weekend on the Felt: Training, Progress, and Great Company with Jeremy Hein

This past weekend was one of those reminders of why I love teaching this game so much.

I wrapped up an awesome weekend of pool lessons with Jeremy Hein from Jasper, Indiana, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 🎱 Jeremy is a super fella, the kind of student who shows up eager to learn, asks great questions, and truly wants to understand why things work—not just how to do them.

Over the course of the weekend, we dug into fundamentals, alignment, stroke consistency, and shot execution, but we also spent time talking about pattern play, confidence, and decision-making—the parts of the game that separate good players from consistently winning ones. Watching those “light-bulb moments” happen is always the most rewarding part of my job.

Just as important, we had a blast. There’s something special about sharing table time with someone who loves the game, respects the process, and enjoys the journey of improvement as much as the results. Pool is supposed to be fun—and weekends like this prove that learning and enjoying yourself can absolutely go hand in hand.
